Destination Unknown (Story Challenge pt1)

This is the first part of what I hope will be a long and interesting story, it is booked up for 3 parts already. For a better idea read my previous post https://wordpress.com/read/blogs/133348354/posts/1435

The idea is simple, I write a story and drop it at preferably some cliffhanger, then another person has to pick up where I left off and continue in their own way preferably twisting the story. Comment to join.

He woke up in the middle of the night again 3:13 am on the clock. It was the fifth night in a row. Each time he was awoken by the same dream. In that dream, he saw a woman standing in a large room made of stone with strange engravings on the walls that felt familiar yet distant. The woman was wearing a plain white dress her golden hair blowing in the wind, but the air in the room was still. As soon as she makes eye contact with him she opens her mouth to a scream and suddenly bursts into flames. At this point, the clocks show 3:13 and sleep is gone. Nothing changed in his dreams, nothing until tonight, it wasn’t really a change but rather an addition. He was standing in front of a large and old house to which he was drawn to by a strange feeling, upon entering he was suddenly in the stone room and the woman in front of him. 3:13 again.

Due to many interesting skills acquired ever the years he decided to concentrate on the details of the dream. Oner next several nights he was drawing what he saw in the vision. that’s what he thought of it as normal dreams don’t repeat themselves so often in such detail. For the first two nights he was sketching the woman from the dream in a way that many artists would be proud of. It took him another 3 nights to note most of the symbols on the walls, they were strange, upon studying them he determined they are most likely ancient Sumerian, unfortunately, he did not know the meaning of them, in fact, there are not many people left knowing ancient Sumerian.

The house was easy to draw, so easy he didn’t need to strain himself to remember the details. It was after he was finished that he realised it was his house. Not the one he was currently living in but one he owns in Europe. Without hesitation, he decided to go, packed his bag and made a mysteriously short call to book his plane. Which sounded as follows when heard from only one side. “Hello… it’s me, Mithra… I’m going to Norway, the usual… tonight.. thanks.”

It was midnight when Mithra arrived in Norway, the taxi took another 30 minutes. Finally, he was standing with a bag over his shoulder looking at the house he was seeing in his dreams every night for almost two weeks, the only house on the long and dark street. His eyes narrowed and his heartbeat raised slightly, the light upstairs was on when it definitely shouldn’t. Mithra stopped by the large and certainly heavy front door, he was about to grab the handle when he suddenly heard the sound.

Next up is Enni so check how she will continue the story, I hope the challenge is not too hard. After Enni it will be Amanda. Leave comments on the stories if you want to join us, I will repost all parts on my blog so it is easy to find them in one place. Also, rules I didn’t mention, it can be short or as long as you like. You can change it in any way you like as long as there is a main character. If you want to kill Mithra you need to create a new main character beforehand.

  1. Should press charges for assaulting me.”

“Fuck sake Ann it was just a tap!” I said.

“And when is she leaving?” She asked.

    “When’s who leaving?”

“That blonde bitch upstairs. Why on earth did you give her a key. Is she really your sister- I thought you were an only child?”

Ann had me there, she might be my friend but she didn’t know that much about me. No one did except maybe for….
